Definitions
Statute law -It is written law enacted by the Canadian federal government which overrides any common law dealing with the same point. An example would be no speeding while driving vehicles.

Public law - a law affecting the public at large. An example would be the speed limits in a town or city.


Private law - A law that would apply to a particular individual or group of individuals, or corporate entity. An example of it would be child support and adopotion.

Civil law - The body of laws established by a state or nation for its own regulation.

Criminal law - The body of law dealing with crimes and their punishment. Some examples are felonies and treasons like manslaughter.

Substantive law - Substantive law is the statutory or written law that governs rights and obligations of those who are subject to it. An example would be murder which is a criminal offense.

Procedural law - Comprises the rules by which a court hears and determines what happens in civil or criminal proceedings.

2. the law being violated was drug traffiicing cocaine and have a loaded weapon on you , a police officer pulled two people over in a red camaroe because they thought what they saw was drug trafficing they pulled the camaroe over and hand cuffed the two suspects there car was searched and they found cocaine a loaded weapon and a cell phone the charges were dropped because there was no proof they were drug trafficing the police just suspected it, they didnt have a reason to search the car the police vioalted sections 8, 9 & 10 of the charter rights and freedoms so the evidence was no longer alllowable.
