The last commandment speaks of controlling one's thoughts and desires.the ten Commandments were rules for life given by God to the people of Israel on Mount Sinai. The rules were written on stone tablets.The purpose of the ten commandments is to emphasize the value of the laws in revealing the love of Jesus Christ for humanity in every age.The Mosaic Law set forth numerous offenses that were punishable by death. The first was murder. Third, capital punishment was to be used against perpetrators of sexual sins such as rape, incest, or homosexual practice.Some of these laws are used in Canadian law today such as you shall not muder because if I killed someone I would have to spend a years in jail to make up for it. You shall not commit adultery is a law in our society because if a married person and another person who is not their married spouse have sexual intercourse they can get divorced. One more law that is also used in legal system is you shall not steal. When a person takes something that belongs to somebody else without permission is stealing and if they get caught then they could go to jail or do commounity serves based on what they have stolen. The purpose of these laws are for the protection of people in our society.
